The motif of the clash of natural structures with cultural or technical fragments of civilization is one of the long-standing themes of Libor Novotny, whom we have invited to prepare an annual pre-Christmas meeting for you. In this work, which was created as part of Libor Novotný's residency at PLATO, and which certainly does not shy away from the theme of Christmas, the artist uses the vertical meeting of two elements of public space in a rather straightforward way. The difference in their scale is also the difference between the intimate and domestic atmosphere of the winter ritual and its magnified form in urban Christmas decoration. This sudden meeting of two motifs also reflects the gallery's desire to combine its public mission with a personal encounter with those who and which are close to it in a small celebration.
