First projection in the cinema:
Screening of video works by Agnieszka Polska from the collection of Deutsche Telekom, introduced and commented by Nathalie Hoyos and Rainald Schumacher.
The Art Collection Telekom was founded in 2010 with the intention to build up a collection of contemporary art focused on the cultural area of Central and Eastern Europe. One of the first acquisitions was the video trilogy ‚Three Videos with Narration‘ from 2009 by Agnieszka Polska. To this day, the artist is presented by 9 of her video works in the collection.
The screening of the selection of films by Agnieszka Polska, who won the Preis der Nationalgalerie in Berlin in 2018, will be commented by the curators of the collection, Nathalie Hoyos and Rainald Schumacher. The curators will also talk about the conceptual construction of the collection, whose guidelines are not predetermined. They develop based on the inherent content of the represented works. As such, the collection itself will become transparent as a temporarily changing construction.
