Opening:
Opening of three exhibitions.
Kino Kosmos
Vladimír Bichler, Persijn Broersen & Margit Lukács, Andreas Greiner, Calla Henkel & Max Pitegoff, Selmeci Kocka Jusko, Stéphanie Lagarde, Rudolf Štafa, Markéta Žáčková
Curators, exhibition designers, and graphic designers: Daniela and Linda Dostálková
The idea behind the exhibition sprung not just from the physical space of Kino Kosmos in Třinec but also from the mental dimension of this exceptional futuristic 1968 building. The image of a specific cinema building in a specific location has for the curators transformed into a platform to more deeply reflect on space, memory, dialect, and the universe. They explore the unique nature of place and its overlaps through audiovisual works, sculptures, and photographs by both artists directly connected to Třinec and those active on the international scene.
Dorota Jurzak: Pyk, Sciak etc.
Curators, exhibition designers, and graphic designers: Daniela and Linda Dostálková
In her dark, fantastical works, Polish artist Dorota Jurczak constructs a unique mythology, in which a central role is played by mysterious, fragile, and disturbing creatures, often inspired by Eastern European iconography. Her sculptures, reliefs, drawings, and prints update the legacy of historical crafts, while intertwining in a narrative about transience and corporeality.

PLATO visitors, this time you’re on display – if you left your art for us on the bulletin board of the Keyhole hall. The exhibition violates established practices of exhibiting art in galleries. The art on display has not been vetted by artistic education, practice, and critique. Instead, the exhibition includes drawings, collages, paintings, and small objects that were made out of the spontaneous will to create.
The exhibitions run until 26/10/2025.
Main partners: Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, Moravian-Silesian Region
