Press Release:

Baking a strudel or a ritual around the fire. The PLATO lecturers allows children to encounter art without prejudice

Baking the strudel. This is what the introductory part of an educational programme on the topic of contemporary visual art can look like. In the course of ninety minutes, high school students will discover, for example, that art can take any form. The lecturing department of PLATO prepares programmes for exhibitions, in which it accentuates the topics addressed by young people. The education sessions take place even when the gallery is closed for the preparation of new exhibitions – PLATO goes to schools, from kindergartens to secondary schools. Last year, 3,300 children from all over the Moravian-Silesian Region attended the programmes. PLATO has received more than CZK 3.3 million from the state and European budget for education in Ostrava over the past two years. CZK.
