Old racisms may be structured deep in European thought, but they are being revitalised and spun in new ways under the impact of globalisation, war and the neoliberal abandonment of the poor and the vulnerable. The far Right with its relentless demonization of Roma, Muslims and refugees, are seeking to capitalise on this crisis, while our governments appease the ultra Right through their pursuit of insider-outsider racism. Only by bringing people together in communities of resistance will we be able to counter the rise of racism and fascism.
