Concert:
German composer Burkhard Beins and his site-specific sound installation POR, completed with a multi-channel diffusion of amplified percussions.
Burkhard Beins, a composer and performer active in the field of experimental music and sound art, is known for his use of percussion instruments in combination with selected sound objects. He also works with live electronics and analog synthesizers, plays bass guitar and has created several sound installations. Since the late 1980s he has performed throughout Europe, America, Australia and Asia (LMC Festival, Darmstadt, Musiktage Donaueschingen, HCMF Huddersfield, Kid Ailack Music Hall Tokyo, Wien Modern, MoMA New York and Maerzmusik Berlin). He lives in Berlin.
POR is an award-winning musical composition/installation that has been performed in Berlin, London, Palermo, Brussels and Bologna. It was selected for the series Spatial Dissonance by its curator Daniel Brożek, who will also present the concert.
Daniel Brożek is a renowned Polish music critic, editor in the contemporary music magazine Glissando and author of the blog Canti Illuminati. He is one of the curators of the Wrocław festival Survival Art Review. Brożek collaborates with the sound art research studio at the University of Wroclaw. Under the label Czarny Latawiec he releases his music albums and creates installations and soundtracks for theatre performances. He lives and works in Wrocław.
