Guided tour:
The story of a transformation: join architectural historian and preservationist Martin Strakoš to explore how historic turn-of-the-20th-century slaughterhouses were reimagined into the architecturally acclaimed PLATO gallery.
Mgr. Martin Strakoš (b. 1972) is a leading Czech architectural historian, preservationist, critic, and journalist, whose professional career is deeply intertwined with the city of Ostrava and the Moravian-Silesian Region. He has long been active at the Ostrava branch of the National Heritage Institute (NPÚ). He is one of the most prominent voices in the preservation of 19th and 20th-century architecture, with a strong focus on industrial heritage, interwar modernism, and post-war brutalism.
We are organizing on the occasion of the Colours of Ostrava 2026 festival (not only).
