PLATO

The opening of the exhibition Jindřich Chalupecký Award 2023 will take place in one month

Until Saturday 24 February only, you can visit the exhibition of the laureates of the Jindřich Chalupecký Prize (CJCH) 2023. On the occasion of the opening of the exhibition, we are preparing a guided tour with the curatorial team and a final block of the accompanying programme focused on the climate crisis. It will be led by Michal Feller from the DUHA Ostrava movement.

The Jindřich Chalupecký Award 2023 exhibition has been on view at PLATO Bauhaus since November 2nd last year and presents works by Kryštof Brůha, Lenka Glisníková, Petra Janda, Gabriela Těthalová and the StonyTellers collective. It also includes an installation entitled School of Propaganda by foreign guest Jonas Staal, an established Dutch artist who has long been concerned with the relationship between art, propaganda and democracy.

The exhibition has received acclaim on the websites of FlashArt, Art&Antiques and Artalk. Short online interviews with the exhibitors can be found in Artikl. The curator Tereza Jindrová and jury member Hana Janečková introduced the current CJCH edition to the listeners of Čro Vltava.

This is the second time that the presentation of the laureates of the most important domestic award for artists under 35 will take place in Ostrava, the first time was in 2020.
