Consultation with curator:
Are you an artist or art student? Are you interested in an individual consultation with a curator?
The PLATO programme regularly features consultations with curators; this time we have invited Zuzana Jakalová (Display, MeetFactory, Prádelna Bohnice).
How to prepare for a consultation: arrange a date and time with us, bring examples of your work (in a notebook or as a printed portfolio; if you want to bring an USB, please let us know at least a day in advance); the consultations are held in the PLATO Café.
Zuzana Jakalová (1986) works as a curator at Display – Association for Research and Collective Practice along with Zbyněk Baladrán. For five years, she worked as a curator of the Center for Contemporary Art MeetFactory AiR Program in Prague. From 2012 she was the curator-in-chief of Prádelna Bohnice, an artspace and gallery in the psychiatric hospital on the outskirts of Prague. In her curatorial work she dealt with the topics of failure and embarrassment. She is currently researching topics connected with care practices, emotional work, healthcare and disability.
