Lecture:
The radicalization of young men is not just a matter of the internet. It is the result of social inequalities and ideas about “proper masculinity” that clash with today's reality.
A generation is growing up amid this tension — one for whom online memes, podcasts, and TikTok videos form an everyday framework, and influencers – operating beyond regulation – have become key shapers of their identity.
The lecture will focus on how irony and entertainment can become gateways to antifeminism and the far right, how hate speech becomes normalized, and why it is crucial to understand the broader context – from gender inequalities to socioeconomic pressures. At the same time, it will offer possible paths of prevention and examples of how young people can find their way out of toxic environments, back toward solidarity and healthier relationships.
