Topic: The human body as an actor in a network of relationships
The central theme of the eighth annual two-day Summer Academy of Contemporary Art for Teachers will be the dyad of relationship and body. We will deal with the cultural construction of our approach to bodies, the perception of our own bodies in the environment of social networks, the microbiome and the network of relationships within our bodies, but also the perception and use of the human body, especially in contemporary art. We will explore how the body can become a political tool and how the relationship between body and mind is viewed.
We have approached experts from the fields of art and social science theory, as well as artists, and to broaden our perspective, we have also invited a specialist from the field of medicine.
In the following school year, we will offer academy participants the opportunity to collaborate with their high school classes in the Cycle 3 program: three meetings during the school year, one at the school following the academy, and two at the gallery for two different exhibitions.
We are preparing a detailed program.
